US 3rd Army under Patton during WW2 cut a swath through France and
that will probably never be equaled. Much has been written about
Patton and the 3rd Army; one particular quote says a lot:
"The Third under Patton, was probably the cleanest, neatest army that ever fought a war. Patton saw to that. And I've always believed that was one of the reasons it was such a fine army. We hated the rules, but we never lost a battle.
